Minister Manuel to serve on High-Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing Minister in The Presidency responsible for National Planning, Trevor A Manuel MP, has been appointed as a member of the High-Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing established by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. South African Government nominates Minister van Schalkwyk for top UN post The head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) resigned from this position with effect 1 July 2010.
