Media statement on the upcoming July 2010 African Union Summit
President Jacob Zuma will lead the South African delegation to the 15th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly, scheduled to take place from 25 to 27 July 2010 in Kampala, Uganda under the theme “Maternal, Infant and Child Health and Development in Africa”. The President will be supported by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi; Minister of Public Services and Administration, Mr Richard Baloyi; and Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, Ms Buyelwa Sonjica. Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will thus lead the delegation to the 17th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council, scheduled to take place from 22 to 23 July 2010.21 July 2010

Zuma, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of South Africa, has learnt with shock and dismay of the deplorable explosions targeting crowds watching the World Cup final at a rugby club and at an Ethiopian restaurant in Kampala, Uganda, on Sunday night, killing at least 64 people.
