President to visit KZN COVID-19 sites and assess provincial response plans

President Cyril Ramaphosa will tomorrow, 05 May 2020, visit KwaZulu-Natal to assess the provincial response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accompanied by Premier Sihle Zikalala, the President will visit sites identified as COVID-19 facilities.

The President will commence his programme at Archie Gumede House in Mayville, Durban, where he will engage with the Provincial Government and stakeholders on the province's response strategies and progress being made to flatten the curve of the coronavirus pandemic.

The President will then proceed to the Dr Pixley Isaka Seme Provincial Hospital in KwaMashu, north of Durban, which is one of the hospitals designated to manage COVID-19.

The programme of the President will conclude with a walkabout at the Agricultural Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg which has been designated as a quarantine or isolation facility for patients.
